To read the entire newsletter, download it. 		I hope that our members have enjoyed this past academic year and that you were able to get away from your laboratories for some rest and relaxation. As illustrated by the photo on this page, I mixed business with pleasure in exotic Thailand! Confronting tigers was good practice in fine-tuning fundraising skills. On that note, we are most pleased that Cubist Pharmaceuticals joined AB Biodisk and AdvanDx as our most recent corporate sponsors at the Gold Award status. We hope that other vendors will follow their lead in supporting our branch.

Our branch continues to be successful due to a team of dedicated clinical microbiologists who comprise the NYC ASM council. Their ideas in planning educational events, composing programs, newsletters & capturing "Kodak Moments" is indeed commendable. In order to continue to present AFFORDABLE programs, we owe a debt of gratitude to our corporate sponsors who underwrite a huge proportion of our expenses. Our symposia fees offer the best buy for the buck in the nation!

The next academic year promises more incredible scientific symposia - I think we have truly raised the bar for the quality of educational opportunities offered in the tri-state area. Please continue to attend our meetings, not only to learn, but to network and exchange ideas and gossip with your colleagues.
